New Delhi: To ensure smooth vehicular movement across the national capital ahead of the Independence Day celebration, the Delhi police have issued a traffic advisory for full-dress rehearsal ceremony on August 13. According to the advisory, the traffic around Red Fort will remain closed for general traffic from 4am to 11am on August 13 and only labeled vehicles will be permitted in these roads. The Delhi Police also informed about the route of the parade, suggested routes and bus terminating points, apart from traffic restrictions.

Those vehicles which do not have parking labels for the rehearsals may avoid C-Hexagon, India Gate, Copernics Marg, Mandi House, Sikandra Road, W Point, A point Tikal Marg, Mathura Road, BSZ Marg, Netaji Subhash Marg, JL Nehru Marg, Ring Road between Nizamuddin Khatta and ISBT Kashmere Gate and Outer Ring Road from Nizamuddin Khatta and ISBT via Salimarbagh Bypass.

Alternative- 1: Aurobindo Marg – Safdarjang Road – Kamal Ataturk Marg – Kautilya Marg – S Marg – 11 Murti- Mother Teresa Crescent – Park Street- Mandir Marg – Panchkulan Road
-Rani Jhansi Road and reach their destinations in North Delhi and vice-versa.

Alternative- 2: Reach Connaught Place – Minto Road – Bhavbhuli Marg – Ajmeri Gate
-Shradhanand Marg – Lahori Gate Chow – Naya Bazar – Peeli Kothi – S.P. Mukherjee Marg up to ODRS and reach their destination in North Delhi and vice versa.

Alternative. 3: Reach Nizamuddin Bridge to cross Yamuna – Pushta Road – GT Road and cross Yuddhisthar Setu to ISBT and reach their destination in North Delhi and vice versa.

Delhi Metro Timings For Independence Day

The metro train services on all lines will start at 5 am from all terminal stations. The trains will run with a frequency of 30 minutes on all the lines till 6 am. After 6 am, metro trains will run as per the normal timetable throughout the day. Parking facilities will not be available at metro stations from 6am on 14th August till 2 pm on 15th August, said Delhi Metro Rail Corporation in a statement.
